Chores

Chores, without
the fridge chart.

Type a chore the way you'd say it out loud. The app handles the rest: schedule, rotation, points, proof.

Why this exists

Most chore apps ask too much, then forget too fast.

Other apps make you fill out a wizard for every chore: title, frequency, who, recurrence pattern, point value, category, photo-required-yes-or-no. Six clicks per chore times forty chores equals an evening lost to setup. Then the kids stop using it and the whole thing dies.

Chicknz takes one sentence and turns it into a working chore. "Lou makes her bed every morning, 3 points" parses into the right shape. You see what it parsed before it goes live and edit anything that's wrong.

Type it the way you'd say it

The quick-add input takes a sentence. "Empty the dishwasher after dinner, 5 points, rotate between Kemi and Kai." The AI parses points, frequency, assignee, and rotation.

  • Voice input on mobile (mic icon)
  • Edit the parsed version before saving
  • Or skip the AI and fill the form by hand

Rotations + streaks

Fair, without anyone tracking it

Set a chore to rotate between two or more kids and Chicknz handles whose turn it is each cycle. Streaks count consecutive days where assigned chores hit done. Visible to the kid, visible to you.

  • Round-robin or by-points balancing
  • Streak counter in the kid header
  • Weekly rotation summary on Sundays

Proof, when needed

Photo, self-report, or parent approval

Pick the verification level per chore. Photo proof for the new ones; self-report for the boring daily ones; parent approval for the high-value rare ones.

  • Photos land in a per-chore gallery
  • Approve from your phone in two taps
  • No verification = trust mode (the default for older kids)

But what about…

The AI got the chore wrong.

You see the parsed version before save. Click any field and edit. The AI is a typing helper, not a gatekeeper.

What if my kid lies about doing it?

Turn on photo proof for that chore. Or flip parent approval on. Use them surgically, not everywhere.

Can I have a one-time chore?

Yes. Pick 'one-off' instead of recurring. Lives in the list until done.

I don't want to assign by name. Can it be 'anyone'?

Mark it unassigned and any family member can claim it. First-claimed wins the points.

Try it with your family.
