Rewards

Points
they'll spend.

Rewards kids actually want, redeemed for points they've actually earned. No made-up currency. You set the exchange rate.

Why this exists

Sticker charts work until they don't.

The reason most chore apps lose kids after two weeks: the in-app reward is fake. A digital trophy nobody asks for. A made-up currency that buys nothing.

Chicknz rewards convert to things that exist outside the app. Friday's screen-time bump. A pizza night. Real allowance dollars. The kid spends real points on a real thing. The loop closes.

Build the reward menu once

Add a reward, set the point price. Real-world (movie night, $5 allowance, an extra hour of screen time) or in-app (avatar item, badge). Each reward can require parent approval or auto-claim.

  • Mix real-world + in-app rewards
  • Custom point prices, no defaults to fight
  • Mark rewards 'needs approval' or 'auto'

Money is a reward too

Point-to-dollar conversion at whatever rate you set. Kids accumulate; you approve a payout when they cash out. No actual bank integration needed. Chicknz tracks the running tab, you hand them cash or transfer it your way.

  • Set your own conversion rate
  • Approve payouts from your phone
  • Per-kid running balance, always visible

Avatar shop

In-app rewards for the little ones

Younger kids love unlocking avatar items. The shop is a sink for in-app points where dollars don't make sense yet. Hats, outfits, backgrounds. Tied to the same point bank.

  • 14+ catalog items at launch, growing
  • Same point bank as real-world rewards
  • Saves to the avatar everywhere in the app

But what about…

What about kids who hoard points and never spend?

Healthy savings behavior, leave it alone. If you want, set an expiring 'bonus' reward (points doubled this week) to nudge spending.

Can siblings share a reward pool?

No. Each kid has their own bank. Mixing pools dilutes the personal-accomplishment signal that makes the system work.

I want to give a reward without points being involved.

Free gift mode. Approve a reward claim manually and write 'on the house' in the note. No points deducted.

Do points expire?

No, by default. You can turn on quarterly resets if you want a clean slate each season.

Try it with your family.

Free during beta. Import a family or start from scratch. Takes five minutes. Your fridge will thank you.
